Coach Rich Wright - Head Football Coach, 80 - 39 (.672)

Coach Rich Wright is a 1986 graduate of East Liverpool High School where he was a standout football player.  He played linebacker and left guard.  He was 1st team Eastern District, 1st Team OVAC, All State Honorable Mention and 1st Team All County. He also played in the Penn-Ohio Football Classic. 

Coach Wright was also a standout wrestler at East Liverpool where he was a two time OVAC Champion, State Qualifier and State Placer.  He still holds the longest winning streak in East Liverpool High School history with 47 straight wins.

Coach Wright graduated from Ashland University in 1990 where he was a National Qualifier and placer in wrestling for NCAA Div II.  He was also selected as an ALL-American in 1990.  He became Head Wrestling Coach at Beaver Local in 1991 where he is the winningest coach in school history with 110 duel meet wins.  He has coached 33 state qualifiers, 11 state placers, 18 District Champs, 38 Sectional Champs and 19 OVAC Champs.

Coach Wright took over the Football program in addition to his wrestling duties in 1998.  The Beavers suffered two 0-10 seasons prior to the 1998 season when they went 5-5 with Wright at the helm.  Beaver Local has enjoyed much success ever since as Rich Wright coached teams have made the playoffs 6 out of the last 9 years.

Coach Wright, his wife Penny, and two daughters, Lexi and Jordyn live in Columbiana, Ohio.
